Disc Drivin’ review

It is the oldest of game ideas recreated perfectly for the modern mobile world and it works just as you would like it to.

Disc Drivin’ involves pushing a disc along a track, or rather swiping, until one of the players gets past the finish line and that’s about it. With obstacles and enhancements strategically placed along the track, you have to think about what you are doing all of the time and this only adds to the excitement. So that’s it, a game in which you push a disc and try to get to the finish line first.

Not quite. The reason Disc Drivin’ works so well is because it is incredibly quick to play. You can literally take 2 seconds to take your turn and then move on to the next race you are playing. It is easy to have more than 10 games running at a time and for it to not take up too much of your time. Other games like Word with Friends, for all of their greatness, can take time to manage every day and this game feels like a breath of fresh air in comparison. No real thinking, not a lot of concentration, just pure fun.

It of course works best on the iPad, but even on the smaller iPhone or iPod Touch it is still a blast and well worth the asking price.
