Are we too early for 4G?

4G (LTE) is becoming the must-have mobile data technology in the US at the moment and many consider that a smartphone or tablet without 4G capability to be somehow substandard. In the UK, O2 is trialling the technology and it seems as though it will start to become commonplace throughout the world.

With 3G only now becoming usable for many people and the networks just starting to offer enough speed and coverage for power users, we have to wonder if 4G is being adopted before the technology is ready. With so many people turning to smartphones and tablets every day, it seems that 4G could end up having to spend a long time catching up with demand, just like 3G did. Let’s hope that it all runs smoother this time.
