Killing shops from every angle

There is little doubt that High Street shops and traditional bricks and mortar establishments are struggling at the moment. Online stores have fewer overheads, the need to employ less staff and are thus able to offer their goods at cheaper prices.

The situation just got worse thanks to a raft of mobile apps that let customers check prices of goods in shops against online retailers while in a shop and even receive extra discount incentives for doing so. This offers the best of both worlds to the customer; the ability to view goods in the flesh alongside the advantage of shopping around with just a smartphone.

It is a sad fast that online is the future for consumerism and so it will only grow. No matter what you need, click a couple of buttons and your order will be dispatched. Whether it is a case for a smartphone or a new Television, it is all a click away and traditional shops simply cannot compete.
